What does eczema look like ?

What does eczema look like ? The University of Nottingham has embarked on a study of the link between hard water and eczema. Their before and after pictures, give a clear picture of the possible effects of soft water on an infant suffering from eczema. While this study is not yet complete, it is possible it will prove what OhSoft developer John Staines has discovered.

    What is eczema

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) gives the overview of the skin condition known as eczema or dermatitis:

  • Eczema is a term for several different types of skin swelling. Eczema is also called dermatitis. It is not dangerous, but most types cause red, swollen and itchy skin. Factors that can cause eczema include other diseases, irritating substances, allergies and your genetic makeup. Eczema is not contagious.
  • The most common type of eczema is atopic dermatitis. It is an allergic condition that makes your skin dry and itchy. It is most common in babies and children.
  • Eczema cannot be cured, but you can prevent some types of eczema by avoiding irritants, stress and the things you are allergic to.

As the NIH says, you should do what you can to prevent eczema, because it cannot be cured. You can definitely relieve it though bathing in fully soft water.

How OhSoft can help

If you're seeking help for eczema, you definitely don't want to irritate the affected skin by scratching it or allowing it to become dirty. Proper washing goes without saying. What isn't often said is that you should really be washing with soft water.

John Staines, the founder of OhSoft, discovered almost by accident that his skin rash worsened when he used hard water and improved, and even disappeared, when he used soft water. He says most of us are not aware that when soaps combine with the impurities of hard water, they form a sticky dull film called soap scum that coats our skin.

The soap film seems to prevent natural restorative oils from reaching our skin's surface. We think we're cleaning and yet we're ending up with an undesirable film, whether we notice it or not. And of course, we often make matters worse by trying even more oils and lotions to combat the resurfacing of the eczema rash likely caused by the hard water!

Whatever help for eczema you're getting, it's a near certainty that it will work better if you use soft water for washing.

You will never know for sure how hard water affects your treatment program. Do you know if your water is hard or soft? Just be proactive and use the softest water you can. No matter what your skin condition is or any natural skin care program you're doing, if it involves water, you should be using soft water.

The OhSoft portable water softener is the perfect complement to the skin care treatment program your healthcare professional has prescribed for you. And it's so affordable! The OhSoft unit is less than $250! You've likely already spent many times that on skin care, and maybe sometimes with little or nothing to show by way of results.

You'll find it so easy to use. All you do is attach it to the faucet or shower you're using, wherever you are. Because it's portable, it can travel easily with you. It looks good too, by the way. You can put an OhSoft unit into action so quickly and easily and get help for eczema rashes. Do it now! Go to our Ordering page or click the Ordering button on the navigation menu to the left.
